We have always been drawn to the unsung heroes.
The cars that were brilliant in period but never became the obvious icons. The strange specifications. The forgotten trims. The models that sat one step below the poster car, but often had more character because of it.
TOY starts there.
We take those cars apart, understand what made them special, and bring them back with a new level of care, performance and detail. Not to turn them into something else, but to give them another life.
DESIGN
We begin with the original car. Its proportions, its quirks, the details people remember and the ones they have forgotten. We try to understand what gave the car its character before deciding what to touch. Sometimes the best design decision is leaving something alone. Sometimes it is taking an idea that was already there and pushing it further. The result should still feel immediately familiar. Just more resolved.
ENGINEERING
The cars we love were built to be driven, so the engineering has to serve that first. We look at the engine, chassis, suspension, brakes, gearbox and the way the whole car communicates with you. Then we improve the areas where time, technology or the original budget left room for more. More performance where it matters. Better responses. Better control. Nothing added just to create a specification sheet.
PRODUCTION
Giving an old car a new life means going far beyond a cosmetic restoration. Each car is stripped down and rebuilt properly. Mechanical components are restored or re-engineered. Interiors are retrimmed. Surfaces, finishes and small details are considered with the same care as the powertrain. We want the finished car to feel fresh without losing the traces of where it came from.
CUSTOMIZATION
The specification is part of the car’s personality. We work with color, leather, fabric, trim and small details to create something personal to its owner, while still feeling believable for the car itself. We are especially interested in combinations that feel slightly unexpected but somehow completely right. The kind of specification you wish the factory had made.
